-itis Links

Here are some helpful links to guide you through your TMI journey.

-itis is a suffix which means “inflammation of the __________” (I learned that from my GI). Most TMI’s of the digestive tract will end with it…but some do not. Many times inflammation affects a specific area of your body with a “classic” symptom…and sometimes it affects many areas, therefore making it more difficult to diagnose. Navigating inflammation issues can get complicated, so to help you with your digestive journey, I’m listing some resources here. This is by no means the most exhaustive list in the world, but I’ll be adding to it.

Please remember that your doctor is your strongest ally in conquering your inflammation symptoms. These are just some of the resources that will help you AFTER you get diagnosed.

Take care!

Food Allergies & Intolerances

Allergies/Intolerances also cause inflammatory reactions in the digestive tract. NEVER self-diagnose – if you suspect that you have an allergy or an intolerance see a doctor ASAP! You must make sure that your intolerance is an intolerance, and that your allergy is an allergy. Allergies are VERY serious and it only takes one bad food interaction to cause an anaphylactic shock and death. (Intolerances, on the other hand, are uncomfortable and require a change of diet…but it won’t kill you.)

Also, please know that there is no such thing as an allergy or intolerance cure. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is a swindler.
